Why I Sing The Blues

In 1970s, a big blues movement occurred in Japan.  Many renowned blues players from Chicago started coming to Japan one after another. Fortunately, I caught the tail of this tide in my younger days. It was like a lightning struck my head.

And here I am in the U.S., following my heart.  My lust for playing the blues in a traditional fashion resides deep inside of me. It is, what I consider, a calling from above.

Since 2013, I have been hosting the blues jam sessions every Tuesday night at the Blue Note Lounge in Milpitas, California.  Please check us out if you love the blues music, and yet have not been there.

Also, I have been reverse-importing myself and the blues back to Japan by occasionally making short tours from California.
