オマー・コールマンと連絡を取り始めたのは約1年前だった。 オマーがソーシャルネットワークに、 新しいメンバーを常に求めていると書き込んでいたのが目に留まっ たのがそもそものきっかけだった。
It was about a year ago when I communicated with Omar Coleman through a social network for the first time. His post searching for new players to add on his list got me very curious.
６月にシカゴブルースフェスティバルで彼のパフォーマンスを初め て観た後、この秋に僕がシカゴに来て以来、 数回彼のステージに飛び入りさせて貰った。 その力強いハーモニカもさることながら、 オマーの歌の巧さは群を抜いている。
I saw his performance during the Chicago Blues Festival in June. After I came to Chicago this Fall, I had the pleasure of sitting in with his band a few times. Not only he is a great harmonica player, he is also an outstanding singer.
ステージでバックのメンバーが思い通りに動かないと、 不機嫌になるシンガーがいる。実はかくいう自分もそうだ。 回りの状況に自分のパフォーマンスが影響されてるうちは、 まだまだ未熟といえる。

昨夜シカゴ近郊で初めて一緒にやったライブは、 年末のホリデー気分の中盛り上がった。 次回のライブは来月のバディガイ'ズ レジェンド だ。
